Soapnuts

The soapnut trees are native to the forest, regenerating naturally across the landscape.

Soliga women harvest between October and December, once the fruit has ripened to its characteristic amber-brown. A rotational approach is followed: clusters are left to fall naturally and reseed the forest floor each season. Wild trees, older and unstressed by farming inputs, produce fruit with higher saponin concentrations than commercially farmed varieties, which means a cleaner lather and better performance per shell.

Sold shell-on, sun-dried, with no processing or treatment. Effective for laundry, hair wash, and natural cleaning formulations. Each shell can be reused three to four times.
